Murray McPherson spent thirty years designing and installing electrical systems for commercial buildings, family homes and luxury motor homes. Murray and his wife Marg found they had a real passion for the stress-free motor home lifestyle.
While working with different motor home companies, Murray heard something astonishing. He heard that people weren’t being listened to. He heard stories about people that were having their second and third motor home built by the same company and still didn’t get what they asked for and it seemed every second person he spoke to had a similar story.
Murray and Marg decided to create Lifestyle Motorhomes –
a company that would listen.
Established in the late 1990’s, Lifestyle’s first premise was a small workshop on West Street Ashburton. Although a fantastic location, Lifestyle Motorhomes rapidly out grew the building and with Lifestyle’s reputation for meticulous attention to detail steadily growing, Murray and Marg knew they needed to expand.
Murray’s research told him he needed more than just a bigger work shop, he needed the most elite craftsmen/tradesmen, best machinery and the most advanced technology. They then purchased a large property on the corner of Dobson St and Chalmers Ave Ashburton. The new premise has three large workshops and plenty of land for expansion. Every service is now under one roof, enabling Murray to oversee the process and the quality.
They knew all this combined would secure their future in the motor home industry. What they didn’t realise is what an overwhelming impact a simple thing like really listening to your clients would have on the company. This launched a reputation for giving clients what they want, not what we think they want, thus creating a motor home building experience like no other.
Lifestyle’s research, development and concept design team strive to push the boundaries of what is possible in motor home technology. In many cases making the impossible possible, while always keeping with in the client’s budget.
